“Music gives color to the air of the moment.” - Karl Lagerfeld
If you’re new to my world, I do color readings.
Color readings are my special way to gain insight into the world around me and others. I whip out my color oracle cards and reflect. It’s like a tarot reading. But less fortune-telling and more vibe-checking.
The truth is we are so bogged down by misinformation, dramas, and noise that it’s become harder for us to notice our vibration/higher self/god/gut feelings in our day-to-day realities so in turn we act/make indecisions/sabotage our alignment to our soul path. Own your mistakes. And move on. Evolve.
When you make time and sit with yourself, the color reading has a unique way of blocking out the chattering distractions inside your head and gives you the power to flex your intuition. There’s no right or wrong way to read color per se, some folx are color blind and the messages that want to come through may have to be delivered through another sensory experience.
A color reading is a tool to access your sensory scrying abilities.
Sensory Scrying is what I’ve come to accept as a form of empathy, telepathy, and clairvoyance. It’s when you perceive through another being’s senses. Another being could be your past self, future self, or sentient life. When I’m doing a color reading, my brain is flashing through all my life experiences and taking ample notes while cataloging biases that might diminish the downloads I’m receiving, I have only so much perspective and secondhand knowledge so I prioritize cultural variation and accept self-limitations. It’s the main reason why I don’t believe anyone needs a book to accompany the color oracle deck. Your life experiences are unique to you. And it’s not my place to govern what color means for you and by you. A color’s message and symbology are individualized to every soul on earth because the approach here is rooted in your own sensory experiences.
Yet, I have a rough draft of a book I’m spitballing around on my computer because I’ve come to realize that people do want a book, and should anything happen to me, I would want this magic memorialized in print long after I’m dead. Ya know?
Sensory Scrying takes practice and we are born to feel as sensory beings. So when you’re getting a color reading, I want you to process your readings with your five senses and connect to memories and experiences that correlate to the colors that appear.
Here’s today’s color reading example:
Kiss - Goddess Freya: In Norse mythology, Freya is a powerful goddess associated with love, fertility, beauty, and war. She is often depicted as a symbol of feminine strength and independence. As a deity, Freya is deeply connected to familial bonds, as well as concepts of sovereignty and rulership.
Fawn - Ancestry & Family: Ancestry refers to one's lineage, heritage, and familial connections. Understanding one's ancestry involves tracing back familial ties through generations, exploring cultural traditions, and often involves a sense of connection to one's roots and familial history. Family is a fundamental social unit that typically includes individuals connected by blood, marriage, or adoption. Family plays a central role in many aspects of life, including providing support, transmitting cultural values, and shaping individual identity. Family ties often extend beyond immediate relatives to encompass extended family members and ancestors, reinforcing the significance of ancestry.
Imperial - Sovereignty: Imperial sovereignty refers to the supreme authority and power vested in a ruler or ruling body within an empire. It encompasses the governance, rule, and control over territories, subjects, and resources. Imperial sovereignty often involves a complex interplay of political, social, and cultural dynamics, including familial lineage and ancestry, as rulers often claim legitimacy through ancestral ties and dynastic succession.
Together the colors for the moment are sending messages of lineage, power dynamics, and cultural significance, reflecting the intricate connections between mythology, familial ties, and systems of governance across different historical and cultural contexts. I took this to think about mom energy in my life then it brought me to looking up music for “Good Mother” and sure enough I stumbled into remembering the iconic and very much Freya-esque vibe of Jann Arden.
While in my Arden rabbit hole and listening to her Descendant album (a great homage to family), I knew that this is a great example to share with you that you can apply music to your color readings. Her lyrical prowess and down-to-earth goddess energy kissed a part of my soul today and I wanted to share it with you. A domino of divine timing and synergy occurred because I allowed myself to scry the mood with my senses and now my frowny fine Friday turned into a fresh revitalized one. Of course, Friday comes from Freya (or Frigg) so thank Goddess it’s Friday and for weaving more love, light, and color into my world.
This is an ever-flowing process. As you read more color and remember the power of your senses, I am quite positive you are going to be the change you want to see in the world. Thank you for reading, I’m off to do some color readings for clients before my Star Wars role-playing game tonight.
Until next time, love, light, & color.
